Preliminary Itinerary

Day 1: Board your overnight flight

Day 2: Arrival in Barcelona

Arrive in Barcelona, Spain. Relish this city that is brimming with wonder and excitement. Upon arrival we will be transported to our hotel for the evening..

Day 3: Barcelona

The morning is at leisure for you to enjoy this beautiful city. This afternoon we will be transported to the pier where we will board our cruise ship and begin our journey. (see Day 7 for

link to ship description)

Day 4: Monte Carlo

Sure to be a highlight is our excursion to Monaco today. Monaco is an independent principality about half the size of New York City's Central Park, with a population of 27,000. Monte Carlo is the site of the well-known casino and a glittering center of international social life. Our city tour will include entrance into the 19th-century Romanesque Cathedral, the sight of Princess Grace's tomb.

Day 5: Livorno (Florence-Pisa)

How lucky to visit Livorno, the region of Florence and Pisa resplendent in art and history. Lean to the left to view the Leaning Tower of Pisa and its Bell Tower. Visit beautiful Florence; visit Santa Croce, Piazza del Duomo and Michelangelo's David. Here in the heart of Tuscany you will be surrounded by the best art, culture and food the world has to offer.

Day 6: Civitavecchia (Rome)

Citivecchia is the port closest to Rome. A renaissance fort guards the city that was once the capital of the world's most powerful empire. In Rome, be sure to visit St. Peter's Basilica and The Pantheon, too. The Colosseum stands as a reminder of a mighty empire.

Day 7: Day at Sea

Today is a day spent at sea. This is a nice time to get acquainted with your ship, the NORWEGIAN JADE

Day 8: Naples - Pompeii

Arrive in Naples today. From here you will have the opportunity to choose many different excursions. Explore the well-preserved, ancient city of Pompeii. From the port you will see a modern skyline framed by Mount Vesuvious. You may also choose to visit the town of Sorrento along the Amalfi Coast and the Isle of Capri.

Day 9:  Palma

Palma, founded by the Romans some 2,100 years ago, is full of important monuments. Perhaps take a drive to the Bellver Castle, built 650 years ago. Visit Spain's second-largest Gothic-style cathedral and enjoy some free time before returning tro your ship.

Day 10:  Barcelona-USA

Following breakfast we will be transferred to the airport for our return flight home.

(Shore excursions optional)
