Perspective:
Arts programs and cultural facilities are important
to our quality of life, enhancing Pleasanton as a desirable
place to live and do business. The arts are integral
to the educational system and contribute to academic
achievement. Arts and cultural activities also employ
people and contribute to the local economy.
- Provide
on-going support to the Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council
and the Firehouse Arts Center Fundraising Committee
to raise funds for the construction of the facility
within the next five years and ongoing programming
thereafter.
- Explore
opportunities to support implementation of the City
of Pleasanton Cultural Plan.
- Promote
public art in private developments and commercial
buildings in cooperation with the City's Civic Arts
Program, Planning Department, and other related agencies.
