Perspective: Thoughtful, balanced economic policies help attract and retain quality employers, who bring a higher wage base and improved quality of life for all residents.

  1. Do Business in Pleasanton.
    • Increase the prosperity of local businesses, workers and residents, and increase sales tax and other revenues by promoting Pleasanton internally, externally and expanding B2B opportunities.
    • Enhance Pleasanton's economic and job environment by encouraging types and sizes of business that contribute synergistically to each other and the community.
    • Encourage all public agencies to purchase from local vendors whenever it is reasonalbe to do so.
    • Support city staff to make it easier to do business in Pleasanton.
  2. Recognize that housing is an important piece of infrastructure that provides a local workforce key to maintaining a healthy economy.
  3. Ensure the timely development of adequate infrastructure to support workforce housing.
  4. Enhance a dynamic local economy by enacting essential ordinances and regulations that promote orderly community development.
  5. Increase public awareness that business is essential to the quality of life in Pleasanton, and that its interests support the welfare of our community. 
  6. Support elements within the City of Pleasanton's Economic Strategic Plan and Economic and Fiscal Element of the General Plan that are consistent with this Vision.
