Perspective:
Pleasanton is surrounded on three sides by accessible,
publicly owned as well as privately held land providing
residents and businesses with superior parks and open
space.
- Expand
the community trails system for local and regional recreational
use and transportation alternatives as set out in
the City's Trails Master Plan.
- Promote
partnerships with the Youth Master Plan Implementation
Committee, Youth Commission, Pleasanton Unified School
District, City of Pleasanton, and other community
organizations to implement the annual goals of the
Youth Master Plan.
- Expand
and create new development of recreational facilities
to meet the specific needs of Pleasanton residents,
including funding additional sports fields in the
next 5 years.
- Support
Pleasanton's policies of preserving and enhancing
natural wildlife habitat areas, and protecting large
contiguous areas of open space from intrusion by urban
development.
- Preserve,
revitalize, and enhance agricultural land-use and
enterprises in Pleasanton and the Tri-Valley consistent
with the Tri-Valley Business Council's Vision 2010
and other regional planning documents.
