2010 Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce Chairman of the Board
|
As we start the New Year, I am honored to serve as your 2010 Chairman of the Board. Pleasanton has been home to the Fast family since the 80’s, and later this year we will celebrate my 20th year in business here.
Despite these challenging economic times, Pleasanton remains among the most vibrant, cutting-edge cities in the Bay Area; home to a diverse and dynamic business community. Our membership is also dynamic and diverse. Our more than 800 member firms include businesses large and small; publicly traded and privately held; retail, service, professional and manufacturing as well as high-tech, bio-tech and many more in between. Now in our 64th year the Chamber remains a vibrant, effective business association because of an engaged, committed membership; a rich tradition that will continue in this new decade.
I am grateful to be surrounded by an outstanding Board of Directors that will ensure that all we do is driven by our commitment to improving the local economy, representing the interests of business to government, promoting the community and serving members. We have much to offer, and I look forward to seeing you at luncheons, mixers, seminars and events throughout the year.
Pleasanton 2015: A Community Vision is the cornerstone of our advocacy efforts, and if you are not yet familiar with 2015, I encourage you to review it in online, or stop by the chamber offices for a copy. Now more than ever, business has a critical role to play in sustaining those things that bring value to the community. After all, business generates more than 60 percent of the revenues the City of Pleasanton depends on each year to pay for public services that all residents value.
I wish you a happy, healthy and successful 2010.
