We're Counting on YOU on January 30th!
Please consider signing up to volunteer to help with the our local homeless population count on Wednesday, January 30. Homeless counts will be done all across our country that morning. Sign up via the link below if you can help! CityServe of the Tri-Valley is the lead agency for this count (happens per HUD requirements nationally every 2 years). This count helps determine funding to our area for homeless services.
Please help us meet the local volunteer need of 44 individuals to help count on January 30! Please contact our office CityServe of the Tri-Valley (925) 223-6947 office with any questions. Thank you!!
The Alameda County Homeless Point-In-Time Count of those experiencing homelessness (locally known as EveryOne Counts!) records the number of people experiencing homelessness on one night in January. Two to three volunteers will be matched with a Guide (a person with current or recent experience of homelessness) to conduct a visual tally of homeless persons in a specific geographic area the early morning of January 30, 2019. It is required for maintaining our federal funding for services to end homelessness. But more importantly, it gives our community critical data for strategic, program, policy and fiscal planning.
Sign-up to be a volunteer!
More than 300 volunteers have already registered, but we need more! We are inviting government, non-profit and faith-based organizations, businesses, community and advocacy groups, and private citizens to help us reach our volunteer recruitment goal - especially those who live in or are familiar with East Oakland, East County, Mid County, or South County, and those bilingual in Spanish. Please invite your peers, colleagues as well as family and friends. This promises to be a unique and wonderful eye-opening opportunity for anyone.
